Todd Tribble, Lieutenant, Vallejo Police Department

Todd TribbleLieutenant Todd Tribble started his career in Law Enforcement in 1997 with the Concord Police Department. There he worked in the Patrol Division as a K9 Handler, Defensive Tactics Instructor and member of the SWAT Team. 

In 2003, Lieutenant Tribble began working at the Vallejo Police Department. He started as patrol man and became a detective assigned to General Investigations in 2004. In 2007, he was assigned as a Special Federal Officer with the FBI on the first Solano County, Safe Streets Gang Task Force. As a Task Force Officer, he was able to bring numerous federal resources into Vallejo to combat street gangs and organized criminal enterprises. 

In 2012, Lieutenant Tribble was promoted to Sergeant and worked as a Patrol supervisor. In 2013, he was assigned to Professional Standards as an administrative Sergeant primarily tasked with recruiting and hiring. In 2015, Lieutenant Tribble was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned to command the Support Services Division. 

In 2019, Lieutenant Tribble was transferred to Patrol where he currently works as a Watch Commander/Administrative Lieutenant. In this position, Lieutenant Tribble oversees the deployment of Patrol Squad 3 and manages the start-up and implementation of several departmental projects. 

Lieutenant Todd Tribble has held numerous ancillary positions during his career at the Vallejo Police Department. In 2005, he became a member of the departmental Force Options Instructors Cadre and a member of the SWAT Team. Lieutenant Tribble retired from the SWAT Team in 2018 after serving as the team’s commander for his last four years. 
Lt. Tribble has also been the departmental coordinator for the canine unit since 2013. 

Today, Lieutenant Tribble continues his involvement with tactical aspects of law enforcement as a Regional Representative for the California Association of Tactical Officers (CATO), a position that allows him to provide training updates to members of the SWAT community throughout (5) Bay Area counties. He is also currently a member of CATO’s instructor cadre and frequently teaches their SWAT Commander courses and assists in teaching their SWAT Team Leader courses.
