VALLEJO, CA - On August 22, 2023, at approximately 4:05 P.M., Vallejo Police Department received reports of a deceased body in the unhoused encampment in the 400 block of Redwood St.

 

Detectives responded to the area and located a deceased adult male, later determined to have died from at least one gunshot wound. Evidence technicians from the Department of Justice and the Vallejo Police Department Investigations Division processed the crime scene.

The motive and circumstances involving this shooting are under investigation at this time.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification by the Solano County Coroner’s Office. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Detective William Carpenter at (707) 651-7146 and Corporal Detective Ken Jackson at (707) 648-4280.

This is the 14th homicide in the city of Vallejo in 2023.
