VALLEJO, CA - On August 1, 2023, at approximately 6:53 P.M., Vallejo Police Department officers responded to a report of a male in the water near the 2200 block of Sacramento St.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male that was pulled from the water and suffering from at least one gunshot. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the victim deceased. 

The Vallejo Police Department Detective Division responded to take over the investigation. The motive and circumstances involving this shooting are under investigation at this time.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending next of kin notification by the Solano County Coroner’s Office. Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Detective Brian Murphy at (707) 648-5430 or Detective Dan Callison at (707) 648-4533.

This is the 13th homicide in the city of Vallejo in 2023.
