705 Drivers Screened At Vallejo, Solano County DUI Checkpoint

VALLEJO – On December 16, 2022, the Vallejo Police Department (VPD) held a DUI Checkpoint at the intersection of SonomaBlvd. and Solano Ave. in the city of Vallejo. The checkpoint was administered from 6:30 pm – 12:00 am and yielded the following results: 


  • 705 drivers screened for DUI & valid driver's licenses

  • Twenty-seven (27) drivers were cited for driving with a suspended/revoked license or no license issued

  • Twelve (12) vehicles impounded

  • Two (2) DUI arrest s

  • One (1) warrant arrest


Checkpoint locations are established based on collision statistics and DUI arrests. The primary purpose of checkpoints is not to make arrests, but to promote public safety by deterring drivers from driving while impaired. Funding for this checkpoint is provided to the Vallejo Police Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
