Vallejo PD To Hold DUI/Driver License Checkpoint Saturday, September 17, 2022
Posted on 09/15/2022

VALLEJO, CA -  The Vallejo Police Department Traffic Division will conduct a DUI/Driver's License Checkpoint at an undisclosed location within the city limits on Saturday, September 17, 2022.

Driving while impaired or intoxicated is a crime punishable by law and can lead to unnecessary injury and/or death. In 2019, California recorded 945 Alcohol-Impaired Driving Fatalities. Alcohol and drug-impaired deaths continue to make up the largest category of overall vehicle fatalities. A DUI checkpoint is a proven and effective method to lower these numbers. Additionally, Officers will check drivers to ensure they have a valid driver's license.

The Vallejo Police Department reminds everyone that they can assist in preventing this crime from occurring. If you are attending a gathering or celebration where alcohol will be served, plan ahead and designate a non-drinking sober driver or become a designated driver yourself. You can also take advantage of rideshare services such as Lyft or Uber. You may save your life or the life of others by acting responsibly and thinking ahead.

Remember, everyone is responsible for helping to keep our roadways safe. If you see a drunk driver, please report them by calling 911.
